About Hanasato

Hanasato is a 7-room Japanese inn (ryokan) near Yumigahama Beach, at the southern tip of the Izu Peninsula. The okami, who trained in Japanese cuisine, cooks everything herself, from the sweets served when you arrive to dinner and breakfast. The beach is about a 12-minute walk away.

Meals

Dinner is a multi-course Japanese meal (kaiseki) served in the evening. The okami decides the menu each day based on the fish that came in that morning. Spiny lobster (ise-ebi) and abalone come from Shimoda port. Minami-Izu lands more spiny lobster than any other town in Shizuoka. The beef is Izu beef, raised only at Hirai Farm on the peninsula.

Breakfast is Japanese-style: golden-eye snapper sashimi with the okami's homemade citrus ponzu, small side dishes, grilled fish, rolled omelette, miso soup and rice.

Many dishes are served on plates by Kohtoku Kuramae, a potter who lives in Minami-Izu.

Menus change with the season and the catch. If you have food allergies, please tell us when you book. We will do what we can, but some requests may be difficult.
